Key Features of the Upcoming Logout Option
In the latest beta version (v2.25.17.37) for Android, a new “Logout” option has been spotted under the “Settings > Account” menu. Upon selecting this option, users are presented with three choices:
- Erase all Data & Preferences: This will remove all chat history and user settings from the device, similar to a full reset.
- Keep all Data & Preferences: Allows users to log out while retaining all conversations, media files, and personal settings on their device. This ensures a seamless experience upon re-login, with users regaining immediate access to their data.
- Cancel: Exits the logout process without making any changes.
This feature is particularly beneficial for users who wish to take a digital break or switch between multiple accounts without the hassle of uninstalling the app or losing important data.
Current log limits
So far, WhatsApp does not provide a direct login option on mobile devices. Users who want to log out must either uninstall the app on the iOS or clarify the app data through Android settings. On the other hand, WhatsApp stationary machines and online versions provide a clear login button under the user profile.
Expected profit and availability
The introduction of this logout feature adjusts WhatsApp with other message platforms such as Telegram and Signal, which already offers temporary login options. It meets many accounts that alternate between individual and work profiles or users who juggle business people.
